Creative Mornings DC
In August 2025, I had the privilege of giving a CreativeMornings talk on the theme of Nomad.
I shared stories of my ancestors — strong women who planted seeds of resilience and care that bloomed across generations. I talked about my parents, who cultivated home and held onto their values wherever they went. And I reflected on what it means to live in this moment of crisis — as a mother, an educator, and a creative — when everything feels messy and uncertain.
Here’s what I keep coming back to:
💠 Home is not a fixed point. It’s something we create for each other, again and again.
💠 We can be sanctuaries for one another.
💠 Beautiful things can emerge from friction — brave spaces, connection, and creativity, even in difficult times.
Motherhood has me asking every day: How do we show up for each other? How do we build connection in seasons of isolation, pain, and joy?
✨ How might our creative work — in whatever form it takes — be exactly what this moment needs?
If you have time, I’d love for you to listen:
